Piercing

Piercing, piercing....
Through the shattered
Memories of glory.

Happy days, peaceful days....
Now spent in tears,
Tears for the wasted time...
The wasted days.

Oh Camelot, were you always...
Just a delusion...
An ever ellusive illusion
Of love,honor,and respect?

Yes!...just a simple glance....
A trickery of mind....
A trickery of circumstance.

Falsity, then and now...
Over riding every truth.

Oh where, oh where to turn....
Searching ever searching for a dream...
Mere folly on my part
To even dare to share.

Gone, gone...never was!
Oh the piercing, piercing howl...
This soul does scream.

To know, to awaken...
From the torn and shattered dream.

Your poem is very lovely; in an agonizing way... it is beautiful; as heartfelt cries can go... I love it!

Thank you for posting it! It reminds me of certain things I've experienced in life on occasion - deep things.

I wish you peace, calm, and rest. I wish you hope and happiness!

Thank you Kimba,
Even though we have just began to know each other....I hold your opinion in high regard.

Perhaps it was my daughter's birthday and the fact that her husband is in Iraq that triggered and awakened the need in me to express.

I don't know. But, please know I do have happiness in my everyday life......what I cry for is our country.

And, a world that seems bent on self-destruction through greed and war.

Thank you so very, very much for your lovely comment!!

Hi Francis,
it has been such a long time since I have truly been in touch with my ability and desire to write.

But, I feel so very strong about these things....somewhere America...the entire world seems to have crossed a line.

My only wish is that we can pull ourselves up and out again and learn to respect each other and our differences....and, rise above the mire...we currently find ourselves in.

I admire your work greatly...thank you so very, very much!!

There is a Vital Truth in what you said: "that we can pull ourselves up and out again and learn to respect each other and our differences....and, rise above the mire...we currently find ourselves in."
Bless you, my Friend!
Peace.

Oh robin that is my dream now. I do so pray that the world will wake up and truly move toward over coming our petty differences and this seemingly endless quest for wealth.

Blessings my friend,

I wrote sometime ago about illegal drugs, illegal wildlife poaching and the arms trade being the top 3 biggest industries in the world today.

It's really sad that there is so much money incentive in making war and killing animals.

Eisenhower warned about the military industrial complex taking over congress, well that's already happened, no one dares to go against the grain, no one dares to bring it up for discussion except Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.

War is a way of life now. Old men start wars and young men fight it, everyone in between gets killed.

May God have mercy on our greedy souls.

Shinade spoke up on February 8, 2008 10:33 AM

Oh how very, very true Sherry. Thanks ever so much for dropping by.

My heart truly does cry out everyday for the state of affairs of the world.

I have held back way too long in allowing this to surface. But, I am one of those writers that doesn't follow any routine.

The words just come and I can barely write them down fast enough.

I wish I were more talented in this area and could express myself in such a manner daily. But, for me it comes when it comes and then I wait for the next time!!

Bleesings and Dreams of Peace:)

That is great poetry Jackie! I understand and feel it! It is my belief that true poetry is often born from inner turmoil. I love it!
