The Peace Meme

I took a stroll around the garden just yesterday
and there she was
another incredible rose
she is not shy with her beauty
rather she is straining with all her might
to resist the change and fight off the looming winter
she shall not go easy
this beautiful rose the rose of peace
she is fighting till the last
she has not forgotten the glories of spring and summer
she remains to partake in the splendor of
this a new season
I do not know how long she will continue to stretch out
her delicious blooms
for the honey bees and butterflies
ones in passing and some resident forever in my garden
but she is making her contribution
to ensure that all are fed
drink up the sweet honey of her nectar
the wind ever so gently causes a sway
I stand quietly
the wind
caresses my ears with it's delicate fingers
then it whispers a sweet sigh
*Oh but to catch this perfect harmony each day*

Peace is a wonderful thing. Yet many all over the world are not walking out into their gardens and catching glimpses of flowers, bees, butterflies or any other thing that could be defined as beautiful.

Instead they face each day filled with fear, hunger, and sheer horror at the sights they and their children must endure every single day:genocide, bombs, funeral after funeral, burying the dead, mass graves go unmarked, their view and their hope is bleak.

So thousands of us, from all over the globe, join together every six months to make a simple post titled: Dona Nobis Pacem. We all hit the publish button at the same time. The plea for global peace makes a strong resounding wave all across this powerful new media known as the blogosphere.

On this one day no matter your country, your heritage, faith, your religious belief, or your lack of, on this day we stand as one.

We stand together for peace.

Please join us in this movement and post a peace globe on November 6, 2008.

Hello Shinade!

Such a beautiful poem, dear!
I don't even know where to start when it comes to genocide, and all the crimes against humanity - it saddens and enrages me at the same time *nodding*!
As humans we are all responsible for this, and we should be ashamed for not speaking against these things, for sticking our head in the sand and pretend that it doesn't happen!

But let me stop here, otherwise I will write a whole political manifesto here LOL!
Thanks for speaking out, voicing out these things, darling!

You said you were fatigued: I hope it is nothing too serious (nevertheless I will think about you and pray for you to get better) :)!
Get well, and rest plenty!

Cheers

Hi Jackie. I'm quite late. I ended up having surgery quite last minute... about four days ago. I'll be back again, but had to at least take this minute to tell you how beautiful your new look is. It's just awesome! I hope you're pleased with it because it really is quite stunning.

Hugs and love to you. I'll be back on my feet soon... I hope. I'm terribly bored already and though they said 6 weeks to properly recover, I can't imagine being lazy that long.

Oh my.

Jean Chia aka Ms.Yummy~licious November 11, 2008 9:58 AM
